Blue Mountains, NSW
Surrounded by boundless views and heart-racing cliffs, the Blue Mountains National Park is a treasure trove of adventure and natural beauty. We took our time at Willow Cottage as a relaxing retreat of slow bushwalks, splashing in the creek next door, and lazy paddling down the Grose River.
Where we stayed
Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages - Willow Cottage
Down a winding, forested driveway filled with grass-trees and huge boulders, over a stream on a handmade bridge, you’ll find yourself gazing upon the charmingly rustic Willow Cottage. This cozy settler-styled cabin is clad in rough timbers with interior almost entirely made from wood, complete with a kitchenette, bathroom with spa and an open fireplace in the lounge.
Things We Did
Vale of Avoca Lookout
A short drive to the end of the road from the cabin takes you to a stunning lookout with views of the Grose River and the Blue Mountains.
Grose River Kayaking
Fifteen minutes from the cottage is the Navua Reserve, which is the perfect spot for a swim or to launch your kayak for a paddle up the Grose River or Nepean River.
Only 100 meters from your door and over the fence is access to this beautiful creek, surrounded by ferns and boulders.

Explore the surrounding bushland, both on the property and over the fence. The Blue Mountains National Park is full of creeks, rivers, waterfalls and more.
